Supporting our Communities ’22

As the holidays approach, Our Lady of Angels School is working to lend a helping hand to the less fortunate as well as people who can use our help. To provide this support, we rely on the generosity of the members of our parish and school community.  A number of initiatives are starting within the next few weeks. Please consider donating to one or more of these drives to collect food, clothing, coats, toys and other items.

  • Pro Orantibus Day – November 21 is dedicated to “those who pray”. We are collecting items to support the cloistered members of religious communities. In particular, we have a special connection to the Poor Claire Colettines who live right across the street.  The items that the sisters can use are on this list. Please bring all donations for the sisters to the school before November 21.
  • Toy/Children’s Clothing Drive – The OLA Ladies Guild has contacted Catholic Charities to help support their mission with a toy and children’s clothing drive.  This year, there is a particular need to help out families with young children.  Diapers, baby toys, clothes and toys for children from 0-5 are all needed.  They will also accept donations to purchase new items.  Checks should be made payable to Catholic Charities Corporation and write Help Me Grow on the memo line.
All donations should be brought to the school before December 7.
  • Project WarmthWe are collecting new and gently used coats to be donated to community members.  If you have one to donate, you can bring it to the school or church and you can be sure that it will go to someone in need.
